Fresh Point of View

In the world flooded with thoughts, ideas, beliefs, morals, and understanding. Seeing is not always what we perceive. As perception is an amalgamation of one’s thoughts, upbringing, society, education, etc.
When two people look at a thing they infer it differently which creates conflict in communication and hence results in misunderstandings.
A Point of view is the way we understand our surroundings, the way we judge it and the way we create our own moral restrictions and barriers. But. To truly have a broader understanding we need to adopt a fresh point of view; which is easier said than done.
Over the period of time, I have learned certain ways; which have helped me widen my perspective. So, today as I blog; I put forth the certain way in which you can create a better understanding of the world and can reduce the conflict to co-exist in harmony

  • Read:
Books open up a whole new view of the world. This not only familiarizes you with various aspects of the world but also makes you; question and later change or update your perspective.

  • Watch series or movies:

Now with the flooding of markets with worldwide series and movies available through various platforms; one can learn a lot by watching them mindfully. This can benefit those people too who are not into reading much.
  • Listen to Podcasts and seminars:

With the advent of various broadcasting platforms we have an opportunity to learn and delve deep into understanding various facets of life by listening to a podcast or attending an online or offline seminars.
  •  Conversations:

Have a chat with people of different mindsets and ideologies through online chats, comments or DMs. Try to connect with people of different ethnicity, demographics, culture, education, etc
  • Write:

Put forth your ideas in front of others and give them a platform to give you feedback. It will not only provide you self-growth but will also enhance your craft manifold.
  •  Explore:

Attend various clubs, go to exhibition, travel to different places, join new class….just mingle in any way possible. It is fruitful to have a conversation in such settings, but observation can also help you see a different view.
(Do not try this during  the lockdown: May result into a swollen body or lock up J )

But, before this, we need to understand that:
Ø  It is okay to have an opinion but at the same time we must be accommodating enough to various outlooks
Ø  Accept and embrace the beauty of differences
Ø  Treat your life as a path of learning and never miss an opportunity to enhance your knowledge
Ø  The best way to resolve conflict is to “Communicate”; not just talking or not just listening.
Ø  Last but definitely not the least, let go of any ego you posses

Growing over time makes you more understanding but also brings with it many inhibitions. So, at this juncture of life when we are slowly accepting the vulnerabilities of life; let’s work towards creating one with compassion, understanding, empathy, and mindfulness.

Do share your opinions and experience of growing and learning. Let’s have a conversation that makes us a better and evolved human being.

“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in.” ― Isaac Asimov
