Happy Birthday My Dear Friend
“Happy Birthday my dear
friend, you have aged beautifully. Wishing you many more glorious years.”
“Thank you for your
wonderful wishes, but aren’t you a bit late today? I mean the whole world has
wished me in morning.”
“Yes, sorry for the delay,
this year your birthday has brought more sleep hours; you see.”
“Yes, indeed.”
“So, 68 it is. Tell me about
your experience of the period of time”
“Hmm; so it has been a difficult journey…for
being conceived for 2years, 11 months and 18 days my birth was a difficult
task. I am happy that a veteran like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was given vested with
it. I was happy to be in the form I was born; my documents were beautifully
handwritten in calligraphy.”
“Wow; that is amazing. You
truly are special.”
“Indeed, I am. My features
were inspired by kids of other nations; to give me an in-depth character and
wholesomeness.”
“Really, that is unique. You
have seen so many generations; so many people and so many changes, share some
insight about your family?”
“I have seen many ups and
downs; went through many changes, 100 to be precise and I love how I have been
raised to be of adjusting nature. I am happy that my family made me the way I
am, flexible and with endless possibilities to evolve. I feel welcomed in all
generations.”
“That is indeed the quality
we all must possess to live a happy life. What have been the good and bad of
being you?”
“Well, the best part is that
I define my families’ virtues, the rights, responsibilities and duties of each
member and provide the overall guidelines to help my family and its members to
achieve greatness; while benefitting all. The bad part is all this is lost in
translations; some of my kins are unaware of it while some bent it to their
advantage. I am here to help and be a catalyst of growth, not sit in corner and
age.”
“That must be hard. I know
how important you are, but to be honest many people around me are unable to
understand the depth of your character and misjudge your words and deeds. It
saddens me that you are not given proper respect that you deserve.”
“I do get upset, but times
do change. I see the change in thinking of the new generation, they are
inquisitive to know about me, the true me; and the advent of new technology is
a boon to me. But, it is still a long way.”
“Yes, I concur with you. It
has been a long conversation, any special thing you want to mention”
“Yes, I hope that my
family’s glory keeps increasing and everyone is able to understand the essence
of being a part of sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic nation.”
“And yes, My father was born on 15th August, please stop wishing him
on 26th too.”
“Ha-ha, okay... Happy
Birthday constitution of India. Thanks for giving me a just, free and equal
environment to thrive in. Happy Republic Day.”
