Art of living
So, I started with my blogging again. Every day I planned to write something beautiful, something extraordinary, something that stood out; so as to tell the world “I am BACK”. But, suddenly life took a 360° turn and all my plans went down the drain with the new Virus in town.
Suddenly, the talk changed from future plans to survival at the time of the pandemic. Quarantine became the new norm, while plans of travel turned to name random names to the rooms of our house. During this sudden shift life became the most valued assets, long lost friends became a daily call and time became a commodity freely available without any restrictions or speed.
So, life is on a halt now and so are my plans for a celebratory blog. Hence, I decided to simply pour my heart out on this one.
This quarantine period has definitely taught me ways and means to live my life and not to merely exist. Over the past I have learned:
- Life is full of surprises: As much as we sweat to plan our life, it definitely turns out to be not planned. So prepare to accept uncertainty as to the real way of life and accept it the way it is. It will be much easier and less complex in those ways.
- Learn to prioritize relationships: As much as we say we don’t have time to maintain or sustain our relationships; these are the only assets that make your life worthwhile and beautiful. Learn to take time out for them so as to not miss the beauty that comes with it.
- Appreciate yourself: You are an individual with immense capacity, but you need to appreciate yourself for every little win. Do not gloat and compare yourself with others, you never know when you can far exceed and surpass your own expectations of yourself. Be kind to yourself.
- Humanity is the only real emotion: with increasing chaos, sadness and uncertainty what keeps us all intact is the little sense of belongingness in the vast universe, the sense of togetherness and oneness with all. No caste, creed, sex, religion, strata, looks, etc. are above humanity. Be human first.
- Love nature: Appreciate and accept that you are a part of nature and not the sole owner of it. So be considerate towards other spices who share the beautiful earth with you and give them space to survive and co-exist.
- Smile: In this trying times what I have actually learned is a little smile can brighten up everyone around you. So make sure to greet someone, compliment someone, talk to someone or just mess around with your loved ones. Make someone’s day by giving them a reason to smile because you never know the effect it can bring in someone’s gloomy day.
In the end, I would just say that darkness may seem long but, we will see light sooner or later till then the only way to survive is to keep your loved ones near, appreciate everything you have in life and be kind to everyone around.
